Trust me, video does NOT have to be complicated!

1. You think you’re too technically-challenged to figure it all out. That’s just not true. Heck, I started out in 2008 by uploading make-up tutorial videos when I figured all of this out without ANY technical background. The first video I ever produced took me 6 hours to produce and figure out how to upload onto YouTube. Today, I can shoot 6 short videos in 30 minutes and have them ready for YouTube within minutes!

2. You spent a lot of money getting one of those “corporate-type” videos produced and you just don’t have the budget to keep producing those each week. Hey, if you have the budget to keep spending that kind of money each week, be my guest. That said, those commercial-looking videos do little to connect you with your audience (they are just too scripted and you look way too perfect). Not to mention that one sleek video is just not enough to build your own community of loyal fans!

3. I’d rather run down the highway naked than speak in public. Nudity does attract attention, but don’t worry, I’ll show you ways to create great quality videos that won’t require you to be standing in front of the camera and speaking at the camera. That said, you’ll still have to speak.

4. I hate the way I look on camera! Most of the biggest names in Hollywood feel uncomfortable seeing themselves on camera. The sooner you learn to accept what you look like on camera, the sooner you’ll be able to use the power of video to get your message out to potential clients who are starving to hear from you!

5. I’m afraid of being criticized. You have a powerful message to share with the world and you cannot let a few naysayers prevent you from positively touching the life of people who can benefit from your expertise. Not to mention that with the right attitude, you can learn from criticism and turn that into your advantage! If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all of the online marketing strategies out there, I feel your pain. Trust me, I’ve walked in your shoes! I still remember that it took me 6 hours on a Sunday to create, produce and upload my first video in 2008 on YouTube and I can assure you [it DOES get MUCH easier]!

VIDEO REALLY DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THAT COMPLICATED!

I want to come clean, I’m just like you: I’m an entrepreneur. I don’t have any technical background, I didn’t go to film school, I don’t own a $10,000 studio, I don’t have a film crew at my disposal 24/7 and I don’t have an unlimited budget for video marketing. Along the years, I’ve developed a simple, easy & doable approach to video because I get overwhelmed by overly technical-things and I hate it when people use a lot of tech-talk to explain things. Video has been very good to me. Video has allowed me to sell two of my online magazines to American investors in the middle of one of the worst recessions. And now video has allowed me to leverage the “Credibility Factor” (phrase coined by the super successful Jennifer McLean) because I’ve been able to interview several hundreds of the most successful entrepreneurs and have my name associated with theirs.
